Find out how we breathed new life into a household name
Lyons is a long-standing household brand, offering coffee that can be brewed from a bag. They’re passionate about coffee quality, experience and style; something they’ve put their name to for more than 100 years. Despite offering a unique product, their sales were suffering and they were in danger of being delisted from the major supermarkets. That’s when they contacted us to rebuild their brand from the ground up.
The Lyons’ marque stands for a great British brand, and we were keen to keep that link. We’ve introduced an ‘established’ date to further develop that perception and build on this already household name.
Applying the Brand
We also produced a range of collateral materials including table talkers, posters, POS displays and loyalty cards. We created a library of photography that supports the classic, everyday tone of voice and can be used in promotional materials and helps the brand get its message out.
A key consideration of the packaging was a strong use of colour, to promote shelf presence. We used a classic, formal type treatment for brand reinforcement. We were keen to drive the feeling of quality, making use of soft touch varnish, embossing and spot gloss on the finished packaging.
The website is a showcase of the Lyons brand and product range. We used a variety of photographs of the product in everyday situations, and minimal typography to create a classic, timeless tone.
